Communicate more. Communicate openly. Do this more. Do that more. Express yourself more. Show yourself more. Be an open book. We’ve all heard it. Tried it. It all sounds very healthy and transparent on the surface. Easy to execute. I am certain there must be people in some corner of the world who this advice has worked for, but for some reason, I only happen to have come across people who have gotten their ass bitten by this advice.
It all sounds cool until you realise that data says that one in every 5 or 10 people is a psychopath/narcissist. Then you realise, yeah, no shit they got their ass bitten by those wise words. I lead by example, and the Almighty has blessed me with a chronic RBF so I learned how to use it. Better be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war. I truly do believe that.
I have two daughters. You think I would ever give them that advice? Fuck, no. That advice would probably make an appearance into stage 5 of knowing someone after you’ve spent a significant amount of time with them.
Attraction and respect, both as I say, do not grow in full visibility. They grow in progressive discovery. Easier said than done, I know. We don’t always rise to what we know. We fall to who we are practiced at being.
I always suggest everyone to learn about human psychology and manipulation. Not to manipulate. But as a form of self defence, like learning martial arts of the psyche. If we go by the data, and you are one of those people who still believe they have never encountered a narcissist or a psychopath, it’s not your fault.
They just did their job really fucking well.
